This won't be long, just a quick post to announce something.

PREFACE: All right ladies, I wrote all of the following before I watched "The Handmaiden," and yes... it's written by a man. So. Here's the deal. I'm going to continue watching lesbo movies with male directors, HOWEVER, I'm still going to make an effort to watch more female directed movies. I wanted to keep this blog post because it gave mini reviews of two movies, and I just didn't want to trash it. But seriously, I have a very wishy washy opinion of male directed lesbian focused movies, but my current consensus is as long as it's done well and has female representation in other aspects of production, we're good. Anyways, carry on.
Sincerely, me from the future.
So, I've to focus on strictly female directors from now on... and I feel like that makes sense. I didn't officially want this to be a thing when I was watching wlw movies, but oh my god there is such a huge difference. Maybe I'm just watching the wrong movies and I just haven't seen good wlw movies directed by men, but for now we're sticking with women. I don't want to make reviews and have them only be about "oh the director clearly doesn't know much about a lesbian relationship" or "oh women are portrayed so strangely here"simply because the director was male, and I know this isn't the case for all male directors so maybe in the future I'll branch out more... but this is the official ruling for now ha. I really just didn't want to keep making horrible reviews to be honest, and now I'm like, do I even review the wlw movies I've watched that were directed by males?
Here's what I will do, be prepared for the fastest movie reviews of your life.
Farewell, My Queen (2012) - Trash, I didn't even finish the last 30 minutes, literally a d r o p of gay stuff, and the main character who was supposed to be in love (infatuated??) with the Queen of France fucked another man. What? The plot was weird, characters were bland, hard pass.
Disobedience (2017) - Blandest movie I've ever seen, I did finish it and the ending was nice I guess, it really was just spurts of excitement and then the rest of the two hour movie was so damn slow. Also the wlw sex scene was the weirdest fucking thing I've ever seen. It was a porno montage?? And then they spit in each others mouth for no reason? So strange, no chemistry between the two. Pass. (Ok, but it did have some interesting messages surrounding the Jewish community, but other than that, not good).
Alright! Two movies I would not recommend watching (that are directed by males). Now that that's out of the way, let's get on to reviewing more female directed wlw films! Whoop!
