Undeveloped relationship, infidelity, lies. I'm not going to root for a relationship solely based on "love at first sight." Especially when that "first sight" was at one of their weddings.

Director: Ol Parker (So I watched this movie because it I thought it would be equal to a wedding romcom, which are usually so good... but it wasn't. How unfortunate).

"I think you know immediately. As soon as your eyes meet... Then everything that happens from then on just proves that you have been right in that first moment. When you suddenly realize that you were incomplete and now you are whole." (Rachel)
Quick Synopsis
Rachel is getting married to a man named Heck (first sign the movie's going to bad trash), and at her wedding she locks eyes with the wedding's florist, whom she's apparently never met before? They share a dramatic moment, and have a brief meeting during the reception

when Rachel lost her wedding ring in the punch bowl (not entirely sure how that happens). Luce reaches in and grabs it, and they share a good laugh. Rachel invites Luce to dinner with her and Heck later on, and she agrees. Heck thinks it's a good idea, as he thinks Luce and Cooper (friend of Heck and Rachel) would be look good together. During this dinner date, Luce tells Heck she's gay in private. Later in the afternoon, Luce and Rachel have a nice moment in private, adding to the strange sexual tension they previously acquired at the wedding. Some time passes, and Heck suggests Rachel hang out with Luce while he's at a business meeting. She says no because she's afraid of what she'll do, but Heck calls Luce anyways and she agrees. During their meeting, they share more tender moments and get to know each other more. They almost kiss, but are interrupted by some nearby cars. After this, Rachel goes and buys some gay porn to see if it turns her on. She later goes to Luce's flower shop and tells her off, saying she can't do whatever they're doing. She leaves, then surprise! Runs back inside and kisses Luce, and they fall onto some flowers and make out. Heck walks into the shop, but luckily they're in the stock room, so he doesn't see, but Luce has to act natural and pretend Rachel is not in the back. Rachel and Luce then meet at a park, and they agree to break it off because Rachel's married! Heck, coming home drunk after quitting his job, is greeted by a distressed Rachel. She decided to tell him everything, but then she turns around and he's asleep. Or not? Apparently he'd been pretending, and he calls Cooper and tells him everything. Cooper then confronts Luce (they're friends now), and she decides it's best if she goes on an extended vacation out of country. Will Heck forgive Rachel, and will Rachel even want his forgiveness? Will Rachel and Luce ever end up together? I would say watch to find out, but...

Official Review
I know I do this to myself, but I really hate writing synopsis for crap movies. But let's dive in. Bad relationship, sub par acting, and frankly the entire movie is based off of a LIE. Luce and Rachel fall in love once they meet eyes? Say it with me ladies... BULLSHIT! Absolutely ridiculous. Rachel is literally getting married, it's like she never loved Heck at all, and if that was the case, why were they getting married? Please tell me, how. How are we supposed to

root for a cheater, especially when that cheater is cheating on a person who's an absolute saint and loves Rachel so much. And Luce is fine? She's not exactly the most likable person, especially not compared to Heck. Ridiculous. I don't even have that much to say for this one, Rachel is a big baby and a trash person for cheating on Heck. Luce shouldn't have pursued a married woman, and maybe she should have developed a better personality while she's at it. Finally I found a movie with supportive parents though, so there you go. There were maybe two scenes I liked in the entire movie, so save yourself some trouble and watch a better movie. It's movies like this that make me beg the question; why is this movie in so many articles titled "Best LGBT Movies?" Is it simply because people can't find/don't know about other options, or am I alone in disliking this movie? I guess this is why I made this blog, to introduce a more diverse variety of wlw movies to watchers.
Cast/Heartthrobs
Cersei Lannister is in this movie (Lena Headey), so you'd expect great things, but

unfortunately I haven't loved her performances in other movies. Or at least the characters she plays, so it's probably not her fault. But in this movie she's so lackluster, dull, and boring to watch. Which is sad because she's so talented... Matthew Goode (Heck) is actually one of my favorite actors! He did great, overall. Probably could have reacted more when he heard his wife is leaving him... but he's by far the best character in the movie. I really loved Goode in Leap Year. Anyways. Piper Perabo as Rachel, once again was fine. I genuinely think the characters were just horribly written, the actors themselves aren't bad.
